Places of Safety: Talk and Q&A with Alix Hearn

JUNE 8TH | 7 PM | ONLINE

We are delighted to present a FREE webinar with Alix Hearn, child and adolescent psychotherapist, ecopsychotherapist and author, to celebrate the release of her new book, Places of Safety: How Attachment Shapes Our Parenting.

Alix’s book, Places of Safety explores how our earliest relationships, environments and wider social contexts shape the way that we parent, care for others, and relate to ourselves.

In conversation with psychotherapist and lecturer Georgina Sturmer, this event will offer an opportunity to reflect on attachment, parenting, transgenerational influences, and the wider systems that shape emotional wellbeing for children, young people, and families.

Whether you are a therapist, parent, educator, or someone interested in attachment and relational thinking, this promises to be a thoughtful and reflective discussion about what helps us feel safe, connected, and understood.

Don’t miss your CPD certificate and exclusive reflection pack after the live online event - just select “yes” on the sign-up form to receive yours.

About the guest and host

ALIX HEARN is an integrative child and adolescent psychotherapist, ecopsychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over fourteen years’ experience working with children, young people and families across schools, CAMHS, trauma and adoption services, residential settings, and private practice. Her work brings together attachment theory, child development, systemic thinking and environmental perspectives to explore the wider influences that shape emotional wellbeing and parenting.

GEORGINA STURMER is a psychotherapist, supervisor and lecturer specialising in attachment, relationships and anxiety. As a BACP accredited practitioner, Georgina combines clinical expertise with a relational, attachment-informed approach to help people better understand themselves and their patterns in relationships. Alongside her private practice, she teaches for Optima Health Services and creates CPD for therapists. Georgina contributes regularly to the media, including appearances on BBC TV and Radio 4.

Optima Presents

Optima Health Services is a specialist training and wellbeing organisation for people who want to understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape how they live and work.

Our work is rooted in attachment-informed practice, but we do not believe insight should stay in theory books or training rooms. It needs to be useful. It needs to make sense in real life.

We offer professional training, therapeutic learning, couples retreats, and restorative retreats for therapists who spend so much of their lives holding others.

At the heart of it all is the same belief: when people understand themselves more clearly, they can relate differently, recover differently, and grow in ways that last.
